Jacqueline Fernandez was born in Manama and was raised by a mixed-ethnic, multiracial family. Jacqueline's parents are Malaysian as well as from Sri Lanka. Her father Elroy Fernandez hails from Sri Lanka. Jacqueline is the youngest of two siblings and has an older brother. In the 80s, her parents emigrated to Bahrain due to civil unrest on Sri Lanka. As a result, she was born and raised in Bahrain. After graduating from high school in Bahrain she won the Scholarship at the University of Sydney to pursue a Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. As a lover of culture and languages, she attended Berlitz Language School where she learned Spanish and improved her French as well as Arabic. The crown was awarded to Miss Sri Lanka 2006 for Miss Universe 2006 on March 6th of 2006, and then competed at Miss Universe 2006. After her 2006 Miss Sri Lanka win, Padukone entered the television world and hosted a program about Sri Lankan Business named Lanka Business Report. Padukone's father is badminton-player Prakash Padukone. Padukone has been born in Copenhagen as well as Bangalore. As a teenager, she played badminton in national level championships but left her career in the sport to become a fashion model. Padukone is from Mangalorean heritage and her native language is Konkani. Padukone is located in Kundapura Taluk located in Udupi in Karnataka State of India, is where her family originates. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is an international champion in badminton who is retired. The mother of the child is a travel agent.
